  • The Harley Davidson Motor company has trouble in the board room after CEO steps down!

The second largest Harley share holder, H Partners, has initiated a campaign to prevent the re-election of some board members. Looks like time for a shake up of the board, and I agree being a small share holder since 1984. https://www.motorcycle.com/bikes/new...ctors-44620606

Thanks for that heads-up, Knuck. I think everyone wants to see Harley-Davidson do well, but also do well by their customers by making usable, reasonably priced motorcycles. $40K motorcycles are out of most young buyers price range. Again, I hope they get the right people in the right places.

H Partners is calling on the Board to immediately remove Mr. Zeitz as CEO and install an internal senior leader as interim CEO on a short-term basis until an external, permanent CEO is selected.

''We believe it defies logic for Mr. Zeitz, an outgoing CEO with a poor track record at the Company, to make any key decisions that impact the Company’s future. Based on discussions with external parties and a review of social media, we believe that Mr. Zeitz spends far more time in New Mexico, the United Kingdom, and rural Kenya than at the Company’s headquarters in Milwaukee, its manufacturing plants, or its dealerships. We believe that absentee leadership does not serve the Company, especially at this critical moment''.

*It's been obvious for quite some time that Mr. Zeitz was the incorrect choice for the CEO position at Harley-Davidson. I don't understand why it's taking so long to terminate this incompetent.

Harley needs someone that eats, sleeps and breathes Harley Davidson. Someone with energy and commitment. Not to get political but look how someone like Elon Musk who walks the factory floors, works late nights, will push people to their maximum ability to solve problems and get the most out a dollar to produce a product.

Haven't had the time or the inclination to read through these current articles. I only know that the Motor Company decided not long ago to support a political mindset that I do not agree with. Seems they experienced enough backlash to at least somewhat rethink that position.

Too late IMO. I'm perfectly content with the bikes I now own: I won't be buying anything new. Patches have been removed from vests, jackets etc. Glad I don't have any H-D tattoos...
