Dear Bob, a little research by the owner would have found Johnny Sells' comprehensive restoration guide for this bike. I'm glad they kept the original paint though.

Steve, let's just be glad the article didn't say it had a suicide shifter!

Thanks for linking that article Bob. Good for Hemmings for doing it. Always amazes to see the fortunate few who stumble onto gems like this.

"He disassembled and cleaned the V-twin’s Schebler carburetor, which was virtually identical to the one on his 22-hp, 45-cu.in. V-twin-powered 1930 Indian 101 Scout. After treating the carburetor’s cork float with two coats of gas-tank sealer, he put it back together without having to replace the gaskets: “The float floated the way it’s supposed to. Everything worked perfectly: It never leaked a drop of gas.”

Screw the laws of physics, Folks!

            Its all about faith.

PS: Hope he didn't coat that float with POR15...

PORFAIL.jpg (I lost over a G note back when that meant something.)

But the fellow got one last hurrah!

            That's all that matters.
