When I got my 1954 Harley in 1972, Cherry Wallace was the owner of our local Harley dealership. He told me that after the War, (World War II) he was at Fort Polk in Leesville Louisiana and watched as a bulldozer scooped a big hole and buried 500 WWII Harleys.

It's one of those dreary winter days and I thought I'd resurrect this thread. It's got some real great stuff on it. I've got a buddy that followed leads on a Flying Merkel. He's got the frame now, but is in limbo on the rest of it. See, he knows a fella who knows the fella who's land the rest of the machine is on. But the fella he knows won't introduce him to the holder of the Merkel parts. ARRGGH... He's being patient, but a few seasons have passed on and the trails getting colder.... Man, so close yet so far. I'm currently trying to follow up on a lead on a '12 Indian, but I'm starting to wonder if it isn't just a pipe dream. Anyway the doors open again, whaddya fellas got for stories????Cory Othen
