Back in the '70's Bud Ekins wanted an Iver Twin. Nobody would sell him one. He started buying Iver parts and wound up with enough NOS parts to completely built a new Iver twin. The only used part on it was the rear hub. He sold it a few years later.

Harry Buck of Eastern Pennsylvania (Perkiomen Chapter member) had one of these Iver Johnsons. Unrestored, he bought it soon after it was "found" from another antiquer.

Harry never restored, or even worked on anything. He was heir to some family patent annuity or something. Lived in a run-down mansion; had a slime-green swimming pool where we used to have chapter meets in at least the '70s. And barns full of his collection. At least they were under cover. There was a great number of automobiles, like an Isetta, I remember, that didn't have that luxury. His house was full of little treasures, like the Harley factory cut-away training engines, and doo-dads and whatnots that would be like gold, today, all in jumbled squalor.

Does anyone know whaever happened to Harry and his "collection?"

Gerry, It's funny that this is the second time in two weeks that Harry Buck's name has popped up here. My 22JD engine came from his collection. Bob L

The Iver is fully restored and in a private collection.

Harry was turning over many of his bikes to those who would restore and show them in his honor while he was still alive.

Speaking of Harry, his Scott Flying Squirrel just sold on ebay. I always liked this bike as I own a restored 1928 Squirrel. Harry brought it to show off at Davenport. For the record my Iver J engine will go to a suitable candidate as I have too many projects at this time like my 1911 HD Double. Joe, once again thanks for the visit this summer, my wife and I really enjoyed the homestead.
