      Have you ever looked and an early H-D frame? They all have the lug for the third frame tube on them.
      Here is what may be a 1908. It clearly shows the unused leg for the third tube.

        thats actually a sidecar mount,and on close inspection looks completly different than the wagner neck. not even close.

          A tapered sidecar mount? This neck was used 1905-1908. You think the boys were thinking about a sidecar when they built their first machine? In "Harley-Davidson, an Official Eighty Year History" author David Wright says that H-D first produced sidecars in 1914. There is an undated photo of a very early H-D with a wicker chair sidecar in "At the Creation", page 89.
          It may not be the same as the Wagner. But it was purchased from someone.
