very interesting choice of music... just for a change of pace, I googled the question... "What were the more popular songs for the 30's, the 40's, the 50's and so on."
Some of the more popular songs I had never heard of... others were classic favorites like "Over the Rainbow by Judy Garland, and " In the Mood by Glenn Miller, and "Strange Fruit" by Billie Holliday. There are plenty more as you scroll through the years gone by...
I thought it might be interesting to look back and check out a slightly different perspective of the social atmosphere through the sounds of music, as it were.
Music has a way of expression that can enlighten the senses of the times...
Thanks to Jarek and Deebs for the 'spark' that lit a fire for me this morning !! I know this isn't related to antique motorcycles, but my curiosity got the best of me !!
We talk motorcycles all the time. Once in a while a few of the contributors go off script. I find that refreshing. This thread pic'd my interest, give it a try ! Google the above question as it may put a slightly different perspective on how much our world has actually changed.
We see the pics in the "Vintage Pic of the Day" every day. The exercise above gave me a feeling of yesteryear I hadn't thought about before. Time well spent !! Thanks. C2K
