Steve, 2 and 4 are probably '36 Knuckleheads. Check no left side air cleaner (carb exits other side) fork dampener is different from V model as is the horn face and front brake.

Thanks, Rich, for your comments on identifying characteristics of bikes 2 & 4. Looking more closely at them, both appear to have the same rod leading off the bottom of the shift lever going back towards the transmission. Both have black crash bars. Looking more closely at #4, now i don't see anything that would suggest an oil pipe from tank to crankcase. Both also have what appears to be a front brake cable near the top of the wheel rim that points forward and then appears like it may make a fairly acute downward turn to the brake fulcrum lever.

In any event, what a nice variety of machines showing what bikes guys were riding in that particular era; 1 loop frame J-type, 2 keystone frame J-types, 3 VL's and 2 knuckleheads.

Dear Steve, that #1 bike looks like a 1936 VL from that big horseshoe design on the tank. Bikes 1, 2 and 4 look to have the Cycleray headlamp that came out in 1935. Bike 4 looks to have the bar and shield horn face which was first used in 1936. There are no knuckleheads in the photo so I'd guess 1936/37. Ah, the fun they must have had!
