It kept the exhaust fumes from drafting behind the sidecar.

That's a nicely accesorised '56, Bob. With windshield, dual exhaust, and rare color coordinated Royalite saddlebags available in Pepper Red or Atomic Blue. In fact, that picture was used on the cover of the 1956 Parts book. A popular two tone was Atomic Blue with yellow panel. The girl is wearing "Saddle" shoes; popular with teens girls in the mid 50's

Details on post-29 bikes, my knowledge base quickly goes to zero...
Bikes #'s 2, 4, 7 & 8 all appear to have 1931-type electric non-motor horns and the post-Sager-type forks with the Ride-Control accessory forks seen beginning 1933...? Bike #1 does not have a Ride-Control...?
What i am wondering is, looking at bikes 1, 2, 4, 7 & 8, is coming up with a guess on what year this picture may have been taken? What year(s) bikes 1, 2, 4, 7 & 8 are? Given number plates on all the bikes, these riders were gathered for an event...? And, i'm wondering what the "PMC" pennant hanging of bike # 5's handlebar might signify, perhaps winning an award or suggesting a club sponsoring the event? not the golf club, ha-ha...
