A Siamese Merkel(s). I love the gauntlets on the right side rider, and notice that every person is wearing a hat of some description. I've not seen this Merkel picture before: thanks very much for posting it, Tom.

Wonderful to see Putt on Johnny's show and the 1931 video! i have heard the name Putt Mossman, but this is the first time i've seen him. i'm going to surf the internet for more of Putt. Amazing what he did on bikes with nearly no suspension!

When Putt went over to Japan and did exhibition sPeEdWaY, it left a lasting impression over the years, even though it never really took off. Here's what i think is a really cool, contemporary form of racing in Japan, called "auto racing." Betting on race riders on highly specialized motorcycles like betting on thoroughbred race horses.
