That must have been one helluva block to hang~out at.

It sure was. Even got to see the Denco triple triple just after it arrived in Oz, around the early '80's if I remember correctly. It was in one of the Indie shops just off Elizabeth Street getting the once over. Sounded fantastic. Don't recall if it ever ran here or not though. Apparently it's still in Melbourne somewhere collecting dust in someone's shed.

Cowboy Mickey's '53 Chief is totally a very nice example of a well appointed, slightly overdone and gaudy, this Chief with the extra lights, the front wheel covers, Chrome front legs and brake complement the fender crowns. Only one mans opinion, I think this Chief is a real beauty !!

I'll bet the proud owner probably never played the piano with hands like those !! That big smile says it all !!

I think it's a beauty too. But what is that between the spotlights on the handlebars? Looks like he has the optional cellphone holder.

Oh yeah... I see it now. It does look like some kind of numbers/letters on that thing. And it appears to be same size as rear plate. Makes sense.
Never noticed front plate display like that before. Maybe a N.J. State thing? Wonder if he was allowed to pump his own gas.

Yes, back in those days NJ used a front plate on motorcycles. I'm not sure when they did away with the MC Front plate. Whenever I pull into a gas station, the guy will hand me the nozzle and let me fill up the tank myself. I've never had any problems. I DO let them put my card into the pump and push the buttons... no big deal. IF they did NOT allow me to use the nozzle, I would leave and go to another station (IF possible).

Jersey used 2 plates on bikes up till 1969 I think, here is a fuzzy photo of my father's Scout with a front plate and a 1969 registration sticker....

Yes, back in those days NJ used a front plate on motorcycles. I'm not sure when they did away with the MC Front plate. Whenever I pull into a gas station, the guy will hand me the nozzle and let me fill up the tank myself. I've never had any problems. I DO let them put my card into the pump and push the buttons... no big deal. IF they did NOT allow me to use the nozzle, I would leave and go to another station (IF possible).

Attendants disappeared in Central Illinois well over four decades ago, (until cell phones were invented, and then they remanifested as a phone# on the pump for the disabled, and the cashier had to come out, and wait for you to leave before she lit her smoke.)

New Jersey doesn't sound inviting, but Illinois drives citizens out purposefully.

YEAH, That's the guy!!!

If I'm not mistaken... NJ is the only state now that is NOT a 'self serve" gas station state. It's illegal.
