Indian Commander Horns

Maybe you guys can answer this question. Check out the following link and let me know what happened. I would imagine that consistent with Indian parts development history, customer feedback perhaps changed the horn. This still doesn't officially answer the question as to why there are essentially three different horns known for this particular range of years.

Anyone know why and what happened?

Well, the “pancake” horn showed in pic. 3 and also on the vertical was the standard horn that came with the bike. The commander horns was an accessory. I suspect that they changed shape as the supplier ran out of supplies? But I don’t know. I’ve seen both types. I thought the manufacturer of the commander horns was Delco Remy, but again I’m not sure. Pancake horn was Sparton.
