These Yankee running lights came with my '46 Chief, and I understand there's a variety of aftermarket lights like these out there, e.g. Guide. Don't know much about Yankee, but I did somewhere see that Yankee made lights earlier than 1946, so I guess they'd be considered period accessories!

Nifty, Harry!
Are they the same size as other 'boat lights'?

PS: I need one clear "titted" OEM lens for my '49 EL...Attached FilesLast edited by T. Cotten; 09-04-2019, 05:40 PM.AMCA #776

The rest is mostly stainless, plus halogen bulbs.
The two spare stanchions are for mounting vertically, by moving the clear plug.
The glass lenses are 'real'.

PS: Trust me, they are over the thirty-five year limit...
PPS: You guys like "billet"?? Eeuu...
PPPS: Doh! The 6" Do-Ray came back.
And for reference, this nifty bayonet-plug-in Guide marker that's not quite John Deere Green.Last edited by T. Cotten; 09-06-2019, 05:47 PM.AMCA #776

Harry; Here are some pics of the later model Yankee Lights that I have. WAY DIFFERENT from the early lamps that you have. As you said, yours are probably early aftermarket.CIMG1443.JPGCIMG1440.JPGCIMG1441.JPGCIMG1442.JPG

Cotten; Here is a pic of the Do-Ray running light on my '41 ULH and some pics of the early aftermarket spotlight bracket that is on it. I don't know who made the bracket, but I like the way that it brings the spotlights in line with the headlamp.CIMG1437.JPGCIMG1439.jpgCIMG1438.jpg

We better define terms, Folks!
I think we all agree on what's a 'headlight', usually larger than a 'spot light', which is larger than a "parking" light to use HDs terms,.. some of them anyway.
Ain't that a fender light, Craig?
(Just another boat light to me.)
The spot bracket looks almost familiar, but I'm chassis-challenged..

PS: Wasn't easy Folks.
But yes, here's the Do-Ray fender lamp stamp!
Awesome.Attached FilesLast edited by T. Cotten; 09-07-2019, 06:13 PM.AMCA #776

Do-Rays as well as many others were used as Truck/Trailer clearance lights by lots of companies, clear, yellow red and sometimes other colored lenses. The spotlight bracket is a period piece. I can find the name if I look in my stuff, I have a couple of them on my '47s.Attached FilesRobbie Knight Amca #2736

Green and red especially.
Green spotlamps were good for poachers.
