Anyone have a pile of 101 scout parts they don't plan to do anything with? I am entertaining piecing a bike together from scratch if I could get some help from other members, email me at dmk441@yahoo.com if you think you might have something that would help the cause, thanks.

Dave great bike to pick! It's also on my wish list someday. This fella usually has a fair bit of stuff. You might have to e-mail him as his site hasn't been updated in awhile.

I spoke with the guy auctioning off this bike on ebay. Sure sounds like a LOT of work. He sdia it is a pieced together machine by a guy who rebuilt some other 101s and this is what he had left over. If you buy this one be aware of the issues.

        Indian 101 scout

Thanks for the info and help, yeah I'm aware of those sites as well. I'll just have to keep looking, or get in touch with the right person.

I'd love to buy offline, or even locally in the midwest, but hard to do. I'm mainly just looking to start into a rusty 20s era project without emptying the bank account. Sometimes it's nice when we don't have to purchase off of ebay, and just from individual to individual, but I will admit this is the modern vehicle we use to obtain things, and I've used it, even though I'd love to avoid it. I think I've grown up in the wrong era...bring back the old days with bikes in barns, and people swapping for what they needed, not for what it's worth or what they can turn and put on the internet right after they buy it. As many of us know, there is much to enjoy with these early machines than what people think there values are. How much is it worth? "Worth enough to ride" that's the best response when it comes to early bikes and this hobby. I guess that's my Sunday morning sermon, it may be upsetting to the billiard's room biker, but bikes where made to run and to ride. Anyway, if anyone has any 1920s era indian, etc. chassis or parts pile, reasonable and rusty(but restorable), give me a call, thanks.
