  • Wanted to Trade for a 741 Original Tool Box

I want to trade this original Chief 46-47 and 52-53 tool box for an original 741 Scout tool box.

Three more. Someone said that the Chief 41-45 tool box is the same as 741-???

      JR,

That's a Chief tool box, Scouts used the earlier style lock, and the notch for the speedo cable was lower.

You can make that one work if you drilled out the spot welds and took that sheet metal extension off the back, and then drill holes for the clamps that go around the frame.

Thanks, Joe. I see now what you mean--because the cut-out on the mounting plate is closer to a V shape like the one on the lower, left.
So this is a 46-47 and 52-53 Chief tool box.
I would rather wait and see if anyone has one to trade.
Someone might need this for a restoration. Indian Chief 46-47 and 52-53 Tool Box.jpg

Hello, you should know that making a chief tool box look like a 741 is more than just cutting off the chiefs mounting flange. The chief has one long hinge while the 741 has 3 separate smaller hinges.
