29 101 generator drive pulley bushing

drive.jpg drive2.jpg need to change bushing for the drive pulley , the cast unit does not have a removable bushing, just a cast boss.Am i correct to think you have to grind down the cast boss to make room for the new busing? thanks

perhaps turn down the o.d. of the bushing instead

There is definitely a bushing there, maybe you have the wrong size?

no, but i did notice yours have different casting numbers than mine, mine might be earlier before they decided to install replaceable bushings ??

I don't know the answer to that but it makes sense. Yours might be for an earlier Scout.

              Harry,
Your picture shows the 28 casting number (101), same as the ones I pictured. His has a 24 casting number, probably earlier Scout.

Joe, those pictures are of my 101 generator drive (I just forgot to add that to the post ) The parts book for 1920 to '26 Scouts lists four bushings for the generator drive.
