I recently sanded a spare Indian vertical 249 Scout frame and found an upside down numeral 1 and a capital M stamped on one section.
These are common among all vertical frames, appearing in exactly the same location on each model frame.
I also found a square impression on the front, center section down tube.
If anyone knows what these mean, please post a response.
