  • 41' indian scout: Do I have the correct forks for my 41 scout?

The inner dimension axle hole to hole is: 6 3/4"

The inner dimension between the fork legs is: ~6 7/16"

Jerry Greer's catalog lists the following for the hollow axle is: ~7.06"

Either I have the wrong front fork for this 1941 indian scout or maybe the earlier models came with narrower front forks? Not sure. Can anyone either prove or disprove my thoughts if I have the correct forks or not?

I also have a drawing showing all the dimensions of a 640 scout Fork Main Frame Assy with the axle to axle width of 7 1/8" and inner fork to fork width of 6 3/4".

Fork spring, mounting light, mounting holes for horn seem to be located in the correct locations.

What type of front fork do I really have?

Unable to add an image. I will try later.

Need AMCA's expertise on this one.

    Thanks.

In 1941 the skirted fenders also had to accommodate 16" tires, and were therefore enlarged in width. Not sure (poor memory) of 40, I think it is also the wider. Check of the web site would confirm. ... Greer's catalogue is pretty reliable.
Sport Scout also had a change in neck rake angle, in 38, I think.
Come on SS nuts! weigh in.
