    Should I run double springs on valves? insulating rings?

    Should I run double springs on valves? I just pulled from another set and they had them. Found the spring to valve cover insulating rings. Mine are metal. Are they supposed to be?

    They appear to be simple metal rings that have been ground down on one side. I guess the flat goes toward the cover, and the spring contacts the round?

    No, double spring are for racing. They put too much stress on valves for normal road work.
