He may be asking $5000.00 but it would be interesting if he actually gets that price. Either way it is insane also. That`s what wrong with ebay, it makes everyone think their stuff is worth a million dollars.

It appears lately, I can no longer afford anything for my machines or project's. Not original parts anyways, kind of making me uneasy about riding what I have - but it aint stopping me, not yet! I think those prices and alot others we are facing are nut's indeed!

Nah, that's just plain old stupidity, which seems to be rampant in the so called "old school" wannabe custom world. Bet the seller is happy!

EBay belongs to the sellers. Lots of legit stuff on there, but so many listings get by with little or no descriptions, lousy photos, or worse ...inaccurate descriptions. But there always seems to be some buyer willing to take a chance, bid ridiculously high, always with dreams of finding treasure.
Take that oil can lamp example that Bob put up earlier in this thread, I've seen enough Antiques Roadshow episodes to know that even if there was such a thing produced in the 40's for HD dealers (doubtful) that that one has lost most of any monetary value by the fact that somebody painted it. But if you read the seller's description, and you've got more money than brains, then it might just sell.
Something is worth whatever somebody else is willing to pay for it, that's the final measure, but I really don't like EBay!

I would guess that most of those high priced items are leaving the US via a boat or plane. Typically, when the price of gold goes up it means the value of the dollar goes down......
