  • 1924 Indian carb

Saw some pictures of this 1924 Carter carb that was reportedly 'rare' and used on 1924 Indian. Thought I would share them:

My 1924 Indian Big Chief had the big 1-1/4" Schebler Deluxe carburetor, which was standard for the Big Chief (can't recall the carb #). The Carter Carburetor was aftermarket and available for most big twins of that era. Our past editor, Charlie Carter was a big fan of the Carter carb and had one on his 1919 Excelsior and it ran great. HIs later efforts to get a Carter carb to work on other Excelsiors were not good.

      It has curious similarities, Paul,

      To this "1916-1919 Schebler GB-O 611 H" from fleabay:

PS: A review of my Carter pics suggests the fleabay offering is really not a Schebler:
