    Afternoon gents,

I found this generator in my father’s stash in what looks like an Indian bracket. Does it look familiar to anybody?

Any info would help. Thanks in advance.

The dual pulley is odd. Perhaps from an old garden tractor with PTO like an old Wheel Horse.

I noticed that, but why is it in the Indian mount? Maybe someone just adapted what they had and it worked?

It was common to adapt just about any generator to an Indian because of the simple belt driven cylindrical set-up. VW beetle generators were often used. You could use anything that would fit.

It looks like a Splitdorf DU-5 that has been assembled with 2 drive end plates, which is odd, and won't work, unless someone put in a shorter armature and adapted brush holders to fit. Odd for sure! I don't see any wires coming out anywhere either. Maybe it was just dummied up to fill the hole for looks. Interesting to see what's inside!
