Indian Powerplus Transmission Cases made of Different Materials ??

Years ago I purchased a box of powerplus era transmission parts including 3 cases. 2 of the cases are aluminum which I believe is what most were made out of. However, one - a magnetic can stick to so I'm assuming steel or cast iron.
Any thoughts on what this might have been made for ???
