New clutch plates

I just put in a new set of KiwiIndian EZ clutch discs in my 741. It shifts much better, but I still get a very small bit of grind noise when shifting into 1st. Is this normal and if not what should I do?

It is a crashbox (sliding gear) transmission, so minor grinding noise is normal. Judicious use of throttle blip and a quick shift remove most if not all, a learned procedure.

Try retarding spark to get lowest idle and rock the bike forward as you engage first.But as mentioned some crunch is normal.
