    Indian engine number

    Hi

I have come across a bike claimed to be a '16 Powerplus single, its engine number is 84H397, the lists I have don't mention a H model. Anyone know what this is ?

    Cheers

Sorry people. A case of brain fade and the inability to properly read the list meant I didn't see the H coded engine numbers. I now see it is a 1916 61ci twin

Ya, that 8 throws you off. It means it was the 14,397th one made in 1916. The first digit adds to the 7 that you would normally see first for the PP motor. That's the one on Craigslist in KY. You gonna but it?

      Just curious.

Funnily enough it wasn't the 8 that put me off, it was the H as I was looking down the "Model" column on my list and not in the engine number column.

Yes it is the Craigslist one but no I don't think I will buy it. Ireally need to find one closer to home to make it easier :-)

        cheers
