  • 1940 Indian 4 toolbox mounting info and photos

Does anyone have or could take some photos of how the tool box mounts to the frame on a 1940 Indian 4 cylinder.
I understand it mounts with 2 clamps on the passenger side side lower frame tube in front of the shock, but the kit I ordered from Jerry Greer also has 3 1/4 inch thick round spacers and 2 more bolts as well as the back of the toolbox is tapped with 2 holes.
Just trying to figure out if it also bolts thru the fender as well.
    Thanks for any help.

    Hi,
I looked through many photos and I was surprised at how many 1940 Fours are missing their tool box. Here are a couple of photos that might help.1940 Indian Four tool box.jpg

      Hi,
Here is the Jerry Greer diagram. I couldn't find anything better.

Got it figured out now! The tool box does not mount to the Fender but there are two clamps to the bottom frame tube with 1/4,inch spacers and a 3rd mounting point with a 3 in. Long tab off the upper frame tab of the rear shock mount with a spacer to the top of the spacer to the backside of the top corner of the tool box. Thanks for the photos, appreciate the help.
