    center stand spring

    does anyone know the point of attachment, on the frame or ? , for the spring on the center stand of a 1940 4 thanks chris

    I can look in a day or 2 but I think I hooked it on the frame cross tube IIRC. Not saying it is correct tho.

      i have found a picture with the spring visable ....it goes from the right side of the stand cross member to a fin on the bottom of the engine with a hole in it. chris

        Guess I'll have to move mine. LOL. After I clean all the greasy stuff away.

          Try looking left of center on the riders right side of the pan, you will find a hole in a cooling fin. Attach long leg of the spring, short loop will hock far right side of the center stand cross brace. There is a boss on the brace that will keep the short spring loop to the riders right.
