You need a nickel finish for 1938-1942 on the cylinders.

Since we brought up nickel plating, Folks...

Does anyone know of a plating supplier of an authentic dull "Watts", or "flash" nickel finish, rather than gaudy modern alternatives?

      Many thanks in advance,

I had some Watts nickel done at Custom Chrome in Grafton Ohio. Custom Chrome does amazing good work but I did not like the Watts nickel. It's very dull and looks kinda like the galvanized zink on Ace Hardware's lag bolts. I prefer electroless nickel, it's not too bright but not very dull either.

          Thanks Harleytoprock,

But all of the electroless that has crossed my benches has been far too bright, and often golden.
I would like to find a source that can produce a finish like this protected bowlstem.
