    substitute carb

What would be a good substitute carb for a 440? A Linkert 441? The schebler DLX-124 is hard to come by. Thanks!

    Howdy sir,

Even having a couple of DLX124's on the shelf choose to run the Linkert on my 440 rider not only for its robustness, but, and others may disagree, with a Cotten float it seems to be more readily (accurately) tunable and a better cold starter.

      dec241949!

DLX124s are not only scarce, but many look like they have been in a fire.
(One currently on my bench resembles a wax sculpture left in the sunlight.)

M441s are also "rare", but an M8SA, M741, M-16, or nearly any bronze 1" model can be made to work well, with proper internals and service.
