K henderson. Clutch assemble query

I'm putting together my clutch and keen to know is there a specific clearance required where the feeler guage is pointed?
if I tighten p/n 275 (clutch release cone) all the way done onto 272 (clutch release cone spring washer) it all binds up, so i back off 275 but to what particular point? is there anyone out there familiar with this?
