Oil guage Bezel

Anyone know if the oil guage bezel is chrome, or nickel plated. Thanks Stan

First off, I'm no expert. But my cousin was with the PO of my bike when he paid something like $800 for the original oil gauge on what is now my 439. The bezel has the blue hue of chrome rather than the yellow of nickel plating. I can post a picture if you like.

Chrome replaced Nickel plating circa 1929. It was like a rush when cheap and reliable chrome plating was introduced about the same time as drop-center rims and the Ricardo head. It all happened kind of at once.
