  • Addjusting valves

I have seen articles on adjusting four cylinder valves. When I need the info I can't find anything. It was like when one opened yau can adjust another one. This is for my 36, but I believe later years will be the same. Thanks for any infio. Stan

Stan: On early and late fours turn motor over until #4 intake is open. Adjust #1 intake valve. Turn motor over again until #1 intake is open. Adjust #4 intake. Turn over until #3 intake is open and adjust #2 intake. Turn over until #2 intake is open and adjust #3 intake. Follow the same procedure for the exhaust valves. Even though the 37 & 37 Fours have a different camshaft the same method should work. Early fours use .004 for the intake and .006 for the exhaust. Late ones use .002 for the intake and .004 for the exhaust. I would guess that 37-37 would use .004 for the intakes. Hope this helps. Tom #381

Stan: I did not proof read my reply. The exhaust clearance for the late model exhaust valves should be .006 not .004. Tom
