  • Color of spark plug wires

Hello, I am assembling my '48 Chief and I'd like to know if the spark plug wires were originally black or? And am I correct in assuming that they were cloth covered?
    thanx for your help,
    Tom

This a good question! You can see lots of colored cloth wires on various skirted Chiefs, but I think black lacquered cloth wires are correct...but that's only a hunch on my part! Hoping someone will chime in here with more than a hunch!

      Hmmm,
In the 2018 Nov/Dec Issue of AMCA magazine there is an article about a 1948 restored after being in a fire. The man who did the restoration was Ted Borman (you may have
read his column in the magazine he is the Technical Editor of Nuts & Bolts column. You could shoot him a message and ask what he used "AMCATechEditor@gmail.com" or reach out
to Starklite as the 2018 article mentions that was his primary source for parts and restoration information. Just my 2 cents. Good Luck and please let me know what you learn. It would
be nice to know. (Though personally I like the colored cloth covered wires).
