  • 52-53 Tranmission Oil Level Plug

I have a '51 or earlier transmission that I am modifying for my '52 Chief, and was wondering about the oil level hole that is supposed to be on the output side of the transmission. Mine has the cast in indent for a plug, but it is not drilled and tapped. Is this the same 1/8" pipe thread plug that is used elsewhere?

Yes, I believe so. If you are talking about the boss on top (the transmission tower), it is the same 3/4-24 slotted plug. If you are talking about a drain on the bottom, that would be the 1/8" pipe thread.
