46 chief horn
okay, 1946 chief sn cdf41xx.ive been told that this particular serial number "should" have a chevron faced horn, with indian written in the block(very cool looking horn to,too,two,2?)but... ive also been told this #should have the sunburst horn .roger told me either one would be correct as this was a transition period.being as im gonna spend a lot for either one, which one would you judges prefer to see on this bike?

either horn face is correct for a 46, as they changed sometime during the year and it is not noted exactly when the change took place. however the block Indian letters were only on 41's and some milartary models, when they ran out the new batches were made without the lettering.
