  • Cylinder intake nipple sealant

I know this was beat to death last year. I have some time now, and want to get my chief back together. What ever I read back then has left my 77 year old head. I am replacing a bad cylinder nipple on my 47 chief. I removed the nipple, and have the new part. I need some information on a good sealant someone else has used to reinstall the nipple. Thanks Stan

Many have used original JBWeld, Stan!

But beware it should cure for weeks at least.
(It can be bubble-tested the next day, of course, and should be before the riveting procedure is addressed.)

HD depended upon a mechanical seal, but Indian did use a sealer, as shown in the attachment. Perhaps it was 'white lead'?
