1947 indian chief NEED PAINT CODE

need 47 indian chief paint code and or name for red, must be current usable code and name

Hello,

The original was a Dupont Delux Air Dry Enamel - Indian Red. Beyond that, I don't know what the official code is.

However, the IMC 2003 Vintage Chief used what they called a "Century Red," which is the closest modern paint I'm aware of. Visually, I can't tell the difference between the original '47 color and this Century Red.

I'm going to be restoring another '47 within the next couple of years here, and this is the color I'm going to be putting on the bike.

Ah yes the ever elusive Indian red. Brian, who's paint is Century Red and what is the type? My 47 Chief resto is crying fror it.

Dupont Premier Base Coat, the code should be Dupont Stock. Somthing about Indian used Alt. #1 on all paint codes? (just a blirp from my archives).

In short, the code is Dupont's.
