1934 chief wheel plating

I have a 1934 chief and the wheels hubs and spokes are cad plated as if they were done after the wheels were laced ,has anyone heard of this being done by indian?

Cadmium plating is a disassembled, immersion-process. Can't tell w/o pics, at least, but sounds like someone did some sort of a quickie brush-on coating without breaking down the wheels. Betcha not any factory process.

My 34 parts list shows only one wheel assembly,rim,spokes etc.THe 34 price list shows chrome rims as a option,with a note that pricing for other parts,chrome nickle or cad upon application.
I believe all hubs werer black,all spokes were cad,and rims were std. black with chrome rims an option.
So I think your wheel has been refinished.
