    1950 Chief Oil

    Hello Group,

I have recently acquired a 1950 Indian Chief and am wondering what oils everyone is using for the engine and the transmission/primary case.

The original documentation is of almost no use in determining what modern specification lubricants to use.

    Any input will be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Straight 50 Valvoline in motor and trans if they are not sealed unts. Folks who have seal primary and trans will have their opinions to offer.

I like that too! Valvoline VR1 racing, and it can also be found in 60wt for the really warm days!
