  • '47 original solo seat color

Did the solo seat on the '47 Chiefs come only in black? Or was tan or brown that I see on most restorations an option?
    Thanks.

They were a light tan or almost "blonde" color. Black was not correct on the solo seat only the buddy seat. Most original seats after years of use will come across as brown or some variation of brown/tan, but that is not what they started out like. There are some post either here or one Classic American Iron of bikes that show just how light the seat was.

Thanks. I prefer the tan color I've seen but I had read recently that black was only option. Guess it was referring to the chumme seats.
