  • 1940's Indian Wheel Off-Set

I am getting ready to rebuild an Indian 16" wheel. Can anybody tell me the proper off-set that it needs? I believe it needs to be off-set towards the drum??? Any help, advice would be appreciated.

I have an original 16"wheel on my bench ,early style hub that measures 3/4" offset .Srtaight edge across rim center brake hub side, hub is recessed 3/4.Thiis would be I believe 1940-45.If you need 46 and later I would have to dig something up.

I got the exact offset from Ron at Jerry Greer's in South Dakota. Just call and ask him.

I've been told the best way to set off-set is while rim and tire is on bike and true so wheel is centered on fender and frame. But, what do I know??
