taillight ring

Trying to reinstall the taillight ring on my 1940 chief ,but can not seen to get it to go in all the way around ,is there some trick that i am missing ? it is the trim ring that holds the glass in thanks jerry

Yes it is the trim ring that holds it in. You start one end in and work your way around. When you get to the last 25% of it you need to start some down pressure on the glass lens and push it in the opposite direction than you are feeding the trim ring in. A little practice and you'll get the idea. Good luck.
