Indian Chief Speedometer Restoration

Hi Folks:

I am finally getting onto my 1938 Indian Chief restoration in a serious way.

Among other things, I need a proper speedometer. I have a 'wrong year' with a grey face. I am told that I need a one-year-only speedometer or at least face.

Can anyone recommend a speedometer rebuilder or does anyone have a '38 to trade? I will post some pictures shortly.

I also need a 38 speedometer.I don't know what is different but the 39-40 is 130 mph speedo.41-45 is 110 mph,46-47 110 mph.
JanusN the speedo guy had what he said where exact repros at oley awhile back that looked really nice,althoiugh I forget if they had functioning max hand.

I think that's the guy who did my Knuck Speedometer. He is a really good rebuilder and a good guy. If it's all authentic and perfect in every way... it's a bit pricey... but what price is someone's concours 100 point bike?

I have been corresponding with Terry. We are good to go with rebuilding mine. Thanks everyone for the info and intro.
