Is '48 front brake drum interchangeable with '46

I have a brake drum from a '48 chief with the speedometer drive gear attached. Would there be any issues with using it on the '46 chief I'm attempting to rebuild?

I'm planning to put front brake plate from '46 chief on the '48 brake drum and just leave the speedometer gear in place. it appears they are the same size and hoping it won't cause any issues. any input/feedback would be greatly appreciated.
