  • '48 Chief front brake cable hardware?

Can anyone tell me (or better yet, post a picture) of the correct hardware to attach the front brake cable end to the front brake lever at the backing plate? Seems like it oughta be more secure than just pinching the cable between two washers... Thanks in advance.

Go to: jerrygreerenginering.com and hit 48 Chief, front brake controls.
It's a standard 1/4 x 28 x 1/2" bolt and lockwasher used with the Special Indian U type cupped washer (#927019) that "clamps" the cable to the arm. It looks like a regular cupped washer with the top cut off for the cable to go in and out but a lot thicker.

Thanks, all. With the drawing, I was able to make the notched cupped washer on the lathe. Seems to work like a charm.
