Does spring bolt go in from front to rear or rear to front?
Does spring bolt go in from front to rear or rear to front?

New day, fresh look, it fell right together.
In case it can help someone someday:
Removed battery tray.
Hung center stand, bolts/nuts loose.
Installed spring, bolt fore to aft, nut off.
Installed battery tray.
Tightened spring nut & bolt.
Tightened stand nuts, backed off, installed cotter pins
Works great
