Chief Cluster gear end play clearance

Can someone tell me what the end play clearance should be on a Chief transmission cluster gear?

On the similar VL 3-speed box it is free running to 0.010" end play, and now that end washers of different thicknesses are being made I can usually set it up in the 5 thousandths or under range.

Harley guy, eh????? End play is 1 to 2 inches, cut the gear to adjust it.

Actually the cluster gear end play called for is .010" to .015"
      For the mainshaft it's .005" to .010"

Thanks Bob. Looks like I'm setting up my gearboxes slightly on the tight side while building the engines generally looser.
