Is 4043 Filler Rod correct for Indian engine case repairs?

That is what I always used.Great for general alum repairs. You may want to pick up an old wasted engine or trans case to practice.
I used to have a helium Argon blend station at work .A pass of all argon, not puddling, will really pull out the oil,and gives some preheat, then welded with argon helium mix.

I'm not a great welder, just took 2 years at a High School before I left Jersey. The instructor suggested I keep "donor" parts around to use for rod. He showed how to slice up some old tranny case legs into usable material. Haven't tried it yet, but I did make some rods out of old parts, for the future
