After many happy years with these lovely machines, here's a few things I wish for.
Indian pistons in .005" OS, ex: +.005,+.010, +.015, etc. Not only is is hard to remove the metal, I hate wasting a thou!
Stainless stem Chief valves with 4 groove keepers. I did this on my Chief over 20,000 miles ago and what an improvement. Took Kiwi valves, turned about 3/4" stem area down to 11/32" and cut modern 4 grooves in the stem. All the newer engines use this. On Indians, and all older engines, the keepers "lock" on the valve, keeper ends don't touch. Multi groove keepers touch and the valve rotates in the keepers. that's why they use 3 or 4 groves, strength. Took me a whole day to do 4 valves though 15 years ago! Hard to do one of.
Anything else?
