  • Chief Front Fork Shock

I got a new repop front shock for my '46 resto but it looks odd. I am used to seeing shocks with crimp marks completely around the upper skirt. This shock only has 4 crimp marks around the upper skirt/cover. Is this correct? Thanks.

The one one top looks like my originals.I think you may also find that the rubber bushings are softer than original, allowing the shock to move with the fork on the mounting pins a small amount before it starts to compress or decompress.

Mine ,too, the knurl marks go all the way around. I see one vendor selling a re-pop shock with all the correct writing on it but it looks like your new one with only the four crimps in the top.
