  • Chief Exhaust Pipe

I had to do some more maintaince to my 1945 chief, since I had to remove the exhaust tubes I am claening & repainting them, I was wondering if anyone has ever used any sealents when reinstalling them to stop any blow by from the head, I have never used any & the blow by is not much it is warm in the winter but it can get a little hot in the summer on the right leg, I have aways installed them dry but wanted to see if there is any other thoughts out there
    Thanks

Sealants on Indian exhaust are a temparary band-aid at best. You would be best to get the pipes to fit better by driving in a swedge, or using a pipe expander to get the proper fit. These can be found on Ebay quite reasonabley.
